How To Format Your Real Estate Blog
Simple Real Estate Blog Structure for Lead Generation
This is part 3 in the Real Estate Blogging Series. In the last blog we went over the 4 principles to consider before you blog. Now that you know which niche area you want to generate leads from, lets talk about how to structure the blog so that it is easy and automatic. One thing we don’t want to do when blogging 3 times a week is over think what we are doing. So we keep it simple.
The first thing we do is find a property that fits our niche. I am going to use Timberwood Park as the niche, since it is a neighborhood I have blogged about before. So I am going now to log into my MLS and find a property. 4 minutes later I have the property I want to blog about, 26510 Adonis Dr.
I optimize my blogs for SEO ranking. Remember our goal here is to make it to page 1 of Google. The real estate blog follows the following format:
- Description of the property, with imbedded URL going to my website search page
- One Great Photo of the listing.
- Quick Stats of the niche
- Quick location of the house
- Where the person looking at blog can search for more homes
- Identify who the listing belongs to. In my state I can advertise other brokerages listings so long as I identify who the listing broker is. You need to ask your broker what their policy is on this.
- The footer I use in all of my blog posts with imbedded URL’s with my phone number
Here is what it looks like:

That is the structure. I just copied the description from the MLS. You can give this some thought and make it more appealing, but my goal is to not think, get this posted as quickly as possible. The important thing is to have links going to the search on YOUR website for the niche you have chosen. If you don’t have the links, doing the blog will lose it’s power. I will show you why in the next blog.
So why do I choose to mainly do blogs about property? For a couple of reasons. I am looking for people who want to buy or sell in Timberwood Park. And what is most important to these folks? Seeing real properties. They want to see homes and pictures and prices, so I give this to them. It is also the easiest thing to do, and I don’t have to think much about it. I can literally write a blog in less than 8 minutes. This is important. I find that if people have to spend a lot of time doing something, and not seeing results, they will stop doing it. Keep in mind I will also blog about what is going on in Timberwood Park with the community. I can get this information straight from the neighborhood newsletter the association puts out.
I am not the genius that came up with this. I learned this from an SEO Guru Key Yassad. I simply put what he taught me to work, and it works. If you blog 3 times a week, and do what I am going to suggest in the next blog, your hard work will payoff.
